Everything a school needs to run relief well

From importing the aSc timetable to the last printed slip, here is what Relief Manager does. Every feature is included in every plan.

Bring in your timetable in one step

No retyping. Relief Manager reads the timetable you already made.

  • aSc Timetables XML. Upload the XML export and every teacher, class, subject and period is read at once.
  • Local timetable software. MDB and CSV exports from Sri Lankan tools such as Srimalee import the same way.
  • Import summary. See how many teachers and timetable rows came in, and which teachers still need a WhatsApp number.
  • Your school's logo. Enter your school website and its icon becomes the system logo.

Daily relief, the way mornings really go

Mark who is away, process relief, review and confirm.

  • Six leave types. Full day, morning short, morning half, evening half, evening short and custom leave, each mapped to the periods you choose.
  • Official duty. Tick Duty for teachers away on school business so it is counted apart from personal leave.
  • Non-teaching days. Add a sports meet or special lecture day and the affected classes and periods are exempt from relief.
  • Smart switches. Skip assigned, fair duty and skip parallel let you decide how Auto Assign behaves today.
  • Live section summary. Total periods, parallel classes covered and periods not yet covered, updated as you assign.
  • Past records. Search any date to reopen, reprint or delete that day's relief.

Non-teaching activities: exempt chosen classes and periods for a sports meet or special lecture day

Fair by design, and you set the rules

Every free teacher gets a score. You decide what matters most.

  • Partner match. Prefer the absent teacher's designated subject partner.
  • Subject and class match. Prefer teachers who teach the same subject, or already teach that class.
  • Free periods and weekly fairness. Spread the load toward teachers with more free time and fewer relief periods this week.
  • Closest class first. Prefer teachers whose previous or next class is in the same section, so nobody crosses the campus.
  • Four presets. Balanced, Partner Focus, Fair Distribution and Subject Priority.

Teachers, partners and protected periods

Keep the staff list right and the engine does the rest.

  • Active or not. Switch off teachers on long leave or transfer without deleting their history.
  • Subject partners. Give each teacher one or more partners who cover for them first.
  • Blocked periods. A weekly grid shows lessons, blocked and free periods. Block a sectional head's free periods with one click.
  • WhatsApp numbers. Store each teacher's number once for messages and TeacherSync sign-in.

Tell every teacher, in their language

WhatsApp, SMS and the TeacherSync app. Use one or all three.

  • WhatsApp templates. Write the header and footer once with {DATE}, {TEACHER} and {SCHOOL} placeholders and see a live preview.
  • The whole day in one message. Each teacher gets their relief tasks plus today's full timetable.
  • Sri Lankan SMS gateways. Connect a provider with a GET URL or JSON POST with basic authentication, and choose what each SMS includes.
  • TeacherSync. Confirmed relief appears in the teacher's app straight away.

Print-ready reports, in Sinhala and Tamil too

Paper still runs the staff room, so printing is first class.

  • Relief slips. One slip per teacher to hand out at assembly.
  • Daily substitution summary. The full day by period, class, subject, absent teacher and relief teacher. Print, download PDF or export CSV.
  • Section-wise supervision report. Pick sections and print only the slots each section head supervises.
  • Correct Unicode. Sinhala and Tamil names print properly in every PDF.

See the month at a glance

Numbers that help a principal plan, not just record.

  • Periods covered. Split into personal leave and official duty.
  • Most absent and top relief covers. Spot patterns early and thank the teachers carrying the load.
  • Absences by leave type. Full day, half day and short leave counted separately.
  • Monthly attendance calendar. Each school day is shaded by the share of staff on personal leave.

Set up once, adjust any time

Options that match the way your school is organised.

  • Leave period configuration. Choose which periods each leave type covers and rename them.
  • Exempt classes and active periods. Leave out classes that never need relief, and periods such as P1 assembly time.
  • Configuration check. Warns about classes not assigned to a section and duplicated classes.
  • Admin and viewer accounts. One account makes changes, a read-only account lets staff look without editing.
  • Your own address. Each school runs on its own reliefmanager.edu.lk subdomain over HTTPS, with a protected sign-in page.
